Delhi and NCR: Huge response to the DDA’s launch of its mega housing scheme
On the second day after the mega housing scheme was launched by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), they once again received tremendous response. About 30,000 forms were sold on the first day on Monday. On Tuesday more than 40,000 forms were sold.
A DDA spokesperson expressed his happiness over the huge success of the scheme and stated that nearly 17,000 forms were sold at the DDA headquarter VikasSadan. Nearly 23,000 forms were sold at different branches of the 13 empanelled banks.
In the last two days the DDA website also registered more than 18 lakh hits. This resulted in a situation where the website crashed as it was not capable of handling so much of traffic. On Monday, the website crashed after getting more than five lakh hits by 9 am. The people were trying to download the housing scheme brochure.
Even on Tuesday, the people were facing problems when they were trying to download the 2014 housing scheme brochure. On Tuesday DDA removed the downloadable version of the brochure from its website. This was done in order to restore the website and bring back normalcy. However looking at the fact that the server miserably collapsed on the day of the launch, it shows the lack of foresight on the part of the IT department of DDA.
