Delhi: CII organizes Conference on Infrastructure Management
The fourth edition of the Regional Conference on Infrastructure Management was organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in New Delhi on August 20, 2014. The Knowledge Partner for the Conference was CBRE South Asia P Ltd.
At the Conference, leaders from corporate houses came together to discuss some of the pertinent issues and concerns of the infrastructure sector in India. Nearly 150 leading Facilities Managers and experts participated in the Conference.
With ‘change’ being the key focus of this year’s Infrastructure Management Conference, the deliberations at the Conference chiefly pertained to how change is embraced by people and organizations while their operations and projects are developed.
Most of the speakers at the Conference asserted that it is extremely important that the recent concepts and best practices with regard to infrastructure development and management must reach the consumers. Towards that end, the speakers suggested the use of technology, innovation, online trading applications, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
In addition, the speakers also said that organizations should attempt to develop strong governance models. Moreover, against the backdrop of the fact that infrastructure in India poised to explode because of a surge in new residential and commercial realty developments, most speakers felt that it is time that the country sets up institutes which impart education and programmes on Infrastructure Management.
