Delhi high court demands notices regarding taking of land from house owners for Delhi Metro
The High court of Delhi had held a session last week with the Land Acquisition Collector. In the session the high court asked the Land Acquisition Collector or LAC to provide the records related to awarding compensations to the residents. The compensations will be provided to the residents whose plots have been given to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation for the metro related construction that will commence in the south Delhi region.
The bench of justices comprising of Badar Durrez Ahmed and Siddharth Mridul has launched an issue directed to the Land Acquisition Collector because they had failed to provide them with notices which were given to the respective house owner before their property was handed over to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation or DMRC for the work on Phase III maintenance depot. The DMRC is taking the last notice provided by the court very seriously and acting accordingly.
The court has been strict towards the representatives of DMRC in their statement. They had previously given time to the institution to provide them with the notices. However the institution had failed to provide the notices on time. This is the reason why the high court has given one last opportunity to DMRC.
