Delhi housing complexes and market areas to get more FAR
Delhi buildings are all set to get more floor area. After Union development minister Kamal Nath declared that development of Delhi would go vertical, the mid-term review of the Master Plan 2021 seems to have put a step forward to realise the vision.
Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has invited objections and suggestions for the first set of 23 amendments finalised so far from the public.
The focus of the review lies on group housing and norms to allow multi-storey flats to come up in planned areas.
It aims to provide additional floor area (FAR) in residential plot group housing for community needs such as community hall, creche, recreation centre, library, reading room, senior citizen club, etc.
Similarly, to pave way for redevelopment of local shopping centres and sub-city level markets, proposal has been formulated to incentivise the redevelopment with a maximum overall FAR of 50 per cent.
