Delhi Municipal Corporation gets Clean Chit for its Vigilance

Comments(2) Sub Category:Municipality,Realty News Posted On: Oct 14, 2011

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) gets a clean chit for proving its carelessness in not taking up the demolition drive of the illegal constructions seriously in the entire city. This issue was raised after the Chandni Mahal building collapsed in Delhi two weeks ago and a report to the commissioner was submitted recently. However the MCD officials claim that the builder was served notice long time before the collapse of the building to stop illegal constructions. Mandatory rule was passed by the state government stating illegal construction is to be stopped soon after receiving the guidelines and notice from the municipal zonal officers.

Jai Kishan Sharma the leader of opposition of MCD reported over this issue saying that the officials had traced nearly 200 illegal buildings in the city zone soon after the Chandni Mahal building collapse. However the zonal officers are finding tough time in stopping construction of illegal buildings in the city as the illegal building mafia in the walled city has robust. However MCD has taken initiative against the illegal constructions in all the areas in Delhi and soon a word will be spread to other city municipal departments all over India.
