Delhi & NCR: Metro expansion hurdles to continue for some more time: NOIDA residents upset

No Comments Sub Category:Delhi-NCR,Infrastructure,Metro,Realty News Posted On: Sep 11, 2014

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has revealed, in response to an RTI (Right to Information) query that most of its Metro connectivity hubs in Noida are still at a planning stage. This is due to the fact that the approvals and fund allocation from the Centre is still pending.

Unfortunately the hopes of Noida residents and the homebuyers that the city will soon have a full Metro connectivity will not be fulfilled anytime soon.  They might have to go through the traffic snarls for some more time till the metro work is completed.

The RTI was filed by Indrish Gupta the co-founder of Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association.  And in reply to that, the DMRC revealed that the detailed project reports for its proposed Metro lines between Sector 32 and Sector 62, between Kalindi Kunj and Botanical Garden and between Sector 32 and Greater Noida have been approved by the Noida Authority and the state government.

The final approval from the Centre, however, is still pending and unfortunately without this approval the work cannot begin on the projects.

The detailed project report for the proposed stretch between Noida Sector 72 and Knowledge Park-V in Greater Noida is still being compiled. The same goes for the stretch between Noida Sector 94 and Noida Sector 143.
