Delhi & NCR: Proposal for flyover at Hero Honda Chowk passed
At a recently-held meeting, the Public Works Department (PWD) (B&R) Haryana, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and the Gurgaon district administration passed a proposal for the construction of a flyover at Hero Honda Chowk — a high-traffic junction along the Delhi-Jaipur Highway in Gurgaon.
With the proposal for the flyover having finally been passed after a long wait, an 8-lane flyover will be constructed at the Hero Honda Chowk. The construction of the flyover will be on engineering, procurement, construction basis; with NHAI and Haryana government to share the construction cost in 75:25 ratio.
About the proposal which has recently been passed by concerned authorities, Sajeev Kaushal – Principal Secretary of PWD – said that a “three-tier facility” will be provided for traffic movement to improve the junction at Hero Honda Chowk.
The “three-tier facility”, according to Kaushal, will include a flyover at Hero Honda Chowk along the Delhi-Jaipur highway, an underpass below the highway, and a ground level road.
Kaushal further revealed that the state government has also agreed to provide land for ‘Right of Way’ for the flyover at the Hero Honda Chowk; and added: “Public utilities and encroachments along the highway will also be shifted in a timely manner. Service roads will be provided on both sides of the flyover and the underpass is proposed to cater to local traffic movement.”
