Delhi & NCR: YEIDA allotting ‘green’ apartments in three housing complexes
Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has been allotting apartments in three affordable residential complexes since January 2014. The three complexes together encompass an expansive land area of approximately 65 acres.
According to the information shared by YEIDA officials, the three environment-friendly affordable housing complexes comprise a total of 8,220 ‘green’ apartments, the possession of which will be given by 2016.
The officials have revealed that the cost of the multi-storey apartments which YEIDA is allotting at the three residential complexes ranges from Rs 7.5 lakh for 1BHK apartments to Rs 31 lakh for 2BHK units. However, with both these schemes now closed, a third scheme which is open for application offers 1,850 1BHK flats at Rs 11 lakh per unit; while the cost of 570 units in the 16-storey building is Rs 31 lakh per unit.
Revealing that the residential projects have stilt parking facilities, the officials said that the apartments at the three complexes have been designed in such a way that they get maximum sunlight. In addition, one-quarter of the total project area has been earmarked for green spaces.
About the ‘green’ apartments in the three residential complexes, a YEIDA official said: “These homes will promote health, conserve natural resources, provide easy access to services and the residents will save hundreds of rupees every year in energy costs.”
