Delhi/NCR: Bridge linking Noida with Mayur Vihar III to be widened

No Comments Sub Category:Delhi-NCR,Realty News Posted On: Aug 06, 2014

The Noida Authority has given its requisite approval for the widening of the bridge which flanks across an irrigation drain that flows between Noida and East Delhi. The widening of the bridge underscores an attempt by the Authority to facilitate the decongestion of one of Noida’s busiest road intersections.

The work on widening the bridge – located between Mayur Vihar Phase-III in East Delhi and Sector 11 in Noida – will be commenced next week; with the Noida Authority having finalized the tenders for the project. The process of widening the bridge will be completed within three months.

The widening of the bridge will approximately cost Rs 65 lakh. As per the officials, the widening of the bridge will provide a lot of respite to thousands of commuters who travel the accident-prone stretch every day and get stuck in traffic jams during rush hours.

Revealing that the bridge will be widened to two times its current width, Noida project engineer Babu Ram said that the existing bridge is nearly 7 metres wide, and its width will be increased to 14 metres.

Further adding that, once the bride has been widened, traffic moving from Delhi to Noida’s sectors 55, 56, 11, 22 and others will not have to wait at the intersection, Babu Ram said: “Vehicles will be able to use a free-left turn along a 50-metre-long slip road and tripod (traffic island), which we will put in place.”
