The corporation authorities in Kerala recently held a meeting in concern with the demolition drives to be taken initiative by them. The authorities were busy in the demolition drive of the illegal buildings all these days, however old city buildings have been considered as a threat in a large scale according to the recent survey conducted by the Kerala government.

KS Santhosh, the planning standing committee chairman and councillors of Thaikkattussery reported saying that his committee has been discussing about the demolition of the 98 buildings in Kerala that has been traced out to be a major threat to the resident’s lives. He added on saying that the same has been discussed with the respective builders of those buildings and the owners. The residents who are surviving in those buildings are asked to vacate at the earliest for their own good.

The written draft is also said to be forwarded to the government to approve the demolition drive and once the same has been approved, the demolition is said to happen. The only reason behind the government hurrying for the demolition of old buildings is that, the old buildings that were constructed decades before are any day threat now as they would have lost the foundation power in them.
