Denotification of land at JP Nagar rejected by HC
A land of about 33 guntas out of the total six acres 31 guntas was denotified recently by the Karnataka government which was acquired for the formation of the 8th phase layout at JP Nagar.
However, the residents questioned the denotification and recently the State High Court took action by quashing the denotification.
Earlier, a total of six acres 31 guntas of the land was acquired in the survey number 24 of the Kothnur village in Uttarahalli Hobli at Bangalore South Taluk.
Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) acquired the land on February 3, 1996 and then on June 8, 2010, the state government denotified 33 guntas.
The High Court has rejected the denotification stating that once BDA has acquired the land from the government for formation of a layout, it become the absolute owner of the land and nobody else has power to denotify it.
