Dharavi residents protest to get back Redevelopment Project
Residents of Dharavi have staged a protest against Government for not going on with the Dharavi Redevelopment Project (DRP).
It was a day long protest near T-Junction by the residents who demanded back the original project of five- sector.
They also demanded the removal of the current Mhada contract. More than 1000 people gathered and fasted which was organized by the Rajiv Gandhi Cooperative Housing Federation and the Jan Kalyan Vikas Nirman Samiti.
The protest came into being after it was known to people that the original five-sector plan was scrapped due to two NGOs, inefficiency of two chief ministers and ego of a bureaucrat.
