DHFL plans to expand its presence in Tamil Nadu and Kerala by opening more branches
In a move indicative of a planned expansion of the Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd (DHFL), the company has revealed that it has efforts underway to broaden its presence in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
As a part of its expansion plan for the two mentioned states, DHFL will open more branches with the objective of reaping benefits from the growing demand for housing loans in both the regions; especially given the wide array of DHFL products including home loans, loans for home extension and improvements, plot purchase, leased rental finance mortgage loans, and non-residential property loans.
Drawing attention to the fact that there is currently an estimated housing shortage of 44-45 million units in urban India, DHFL President Rakesh Makkar said that Narendra Modi-led new Union Government has triggered hopes of the revival of the housing sector in the near future.
In connection with DHFL’s planned expansion in Tamil Nadu, Makkar said that the company is presently serving all the 32 districts in the State, with a presence across 27 touch points. With a view to expand in the State, the company will open branches in Tiruvallur, Karur and Dharmapuri, in the coming months.
About DHFL’s expansion move in Kerala, Makkar revealed that a new branch and three service centres have recently been launched by the company in the State, where it has a 25 percent market share.
