Different land to be used for SEZ project in Noida
The Noida Authority has been getting ready to change the land use of the about 1,000 hectares land that has been marked for Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in keeping with its Master Plan of 2031 on the Noida Greater Noida Expressway.
The officials have asked for objections and suggestions for the change which has been proposed to be categorized by the mixed land use which includes residential use. As said by the officials the land has been stated for development of SEZ in 2006 and has allotted to the Reliance Dhirubhai Ambani Group (R-ADAG) and nine different IT companies as stated by the government of Mulayam Singh.
In August 2007, the Mayawati government refused the proposal of SEZs saying that they do not confirm the guidelines of the centre and that it violates some provisions of the contiguous land. While facing a severe land problem in September 2011, the Noida Authority said that the entire project land back has hoped to utilize it.
The lands have been lying vacant and idle for many years the officials said. They also stated that they had decided to change the land use and utilize it for housing, commercial, industrial and institutional purposes.
