Disputes of Nonadanga land in Kolkata
The Nonadanga land in Kolkata since long times has been acquired by slum dwellers.
The eviction of slum from this land has been a headache to Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA).
The KMDA authority has commenced with several options to utilize the stretch of land.
The Nonadanga Busti Uchchhed Pratirodh Committee is opposing the government’s move on this land.
The government as well as KMDA feels that it is high time that the land should be used for some comprehensive development. Leasing out the Nonadanga land to private developers for 99years is one of the option KMDA has!
The government is looking forward for the growth of restaurants, shopping malls, service apartments, multiplexes according to the plan of Land use and Development Control Plan (LUDCP).
