DLF’s new project in Noida facing problem

No Comments Sub Category:Delhi-NCR,Realty News Posted On: Aug 21, 2014

DLF’s Mall of India, which is coming up in Noida Sector 18 and has been billed as the country’s largest retail space, and four big-ticket realty projects in Sector 75 have been asked to stop all construction till they get a clearance from the National Board for Wildlife.

The stop-work notices sent by the UP pollution control board (UPPCB) come in the middle of the controversy over the extent of the eco-sensitive zone around the Okhla bird sanctuary that has left 1 lakh people who have bought flats in various projects in Noida in a problem. The National Green Tribunal has ruled that the area within a 10km radius of the sanctuary be considered eco-sensitive.

As a result, no new building in that area would get a completion certificate. Commenting on the notices issued to DLF’s Mall of India and the four other realty projects, Antulesh Yadav, regional officer of UPPCB, said that it is mandatory for all buildings in Noida which come in close proximity of the Okhla Bird Sanctury to submit the wildlife board clearance before they seek our clearance. Since they have not submitted the clearance, we have asked them to stop all construction related activities at the site.
