DUSIB approves 7,400 flats for EWS
The Delhi government is planning to build 7,400 flats for the economically weaker sections in the Bhalswa-Jahangirpuri area. More than 10,000 flats built earlier under EWS scheme are still left unoccupied.
Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board has approved the construction of 7,400 flats and a double-storey community hall in Trilokpuri. The cost of the hall is estimated to be around Rs 3.75 crore and the houses would cost Rs 357 crore. The project is funded by Trans Yamuna Area Development Board.
In the first phase, 1,400 eligible families will be allotted flats for which draws have been done. The Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit, will hand over the allotment letters at a proposed function.
