EDMC will not hike parking fee and taxes
Though the commissioner has proposed new taxes and hike in parking rates, East Delhi Municipal Corporation will not hike taxes and parking rates.
The corporation is planning to develop more parking sites and had asked for a package worth Rs. 7500 crore from the Delhi Finance Commission for the work.
It was decided in a meeting with the officials of Delhi Finance Commission that the corporation will be getting funds in installments over a period of five years.
The South Delhi Corporation is planning to hike the rates of parking and property tax, however, BJP has strictly told not to do so and even if the taxes are hiked, the south corporation should roll back the hike.
However, the prime focus of the corporation will be in the development of villages and the unauthorized colonies. The developmental work on a bunch of unauthorised colonies along the Yamuna Bank will be carried out. In order to carry out more work, the fund sanctioned earlier has been increased from Rs. 25 lakh to Rs. 1 crore.
