Comments(2) Sub Category:Cities,Kochi,Realty News Posted On: May 29, 2012

electricity billsThe Kerala State Electricity Board has decided to introduce domestic tariff instead of commercial rates for common areas, including the elevators in apartments in Kerala.

This will be good news for the owners of the apartments in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and other areas of the state.

The electricity board has taken the decision based on the recommendation of Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission.

The regulatory panel had given the directive taking into consideration a petition filed by Thiruvananthapuram-based Owners Association of Residential Apartments.

After the revision in tariff the electricity bills of small- and medium-level apartments will come down by Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000.

Hence the maintenance charges levied by welfare associations of apartment complexes would also be slashed in Kerala.
