Face of goddess on Peepul Tree in Chennai
Residents of Adambakkam has gathered in front of a Peeple tree at Ramakrishna Street to offer prayers and lighting camphor.
It is being said that the face of ‘Amman’ goddess was visible on its trunk.
A big queue of people had lined up to have a glimpse of the goddess on the tree, passersby halted briefly to have a peek. While some prostrated on the road seeking the goddess’ blessings, others clicked pictures on their mobile phone cameras.
Some people are saying that the story was spread in the intention to avoid the tree being chopped off as it is at the entrance of the under construction apartment in Chennai.
