Fertile Lands fast Depleting as Realtors Lure Farmers

No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Dec 04, 2014

The farming sector of the proposed capital region has been hit as ryots are in a fix whether to keep their lands or sell them. The demand for land by many realty firms in this fertile area have escalated land prices in this region making it a hot bed for real estate deals.

The farmers in the fertile land area of Tullurand its neighbouring villages are in a major dilemma because the proposal for building a capital region in this area has caused real estate prices to shoot up. This escalation has left them confused as to whether they should sell their lands or keep them as the realty sector is booming and prices continue to soar in this area. The villagers are yet to take up agricultural operations for the coming season.

Demand for land:

Many real estate firms wantto buy lands in this new upcoming capital region ever since the announcement has been made. Consequently, the greenery of the villages that greeted visitors to Vundavalli, Tadepalli, Tadikonda, Tullur, Penumaka and neighbouring villages are fast depleting.

Some of the farmers in the region of Tullur, Rayapudi, Nidamarru, Neerukonda, Dondapadu, Kuragallu, Vadlamanu, Velagapudi have already offered up their land to realtors in return for an advanced payment that has brought agricultural operations to a grinding halt.

The realtors are trying hard to lure other farmers with offers of attractive prices in return for their lands. Hanumantha Rao, a farmer in Tullur raises cotton in 30 cents of land stating how the fertile lands of Tullur and nearby mandals kept them busy all year round since being a farmer means engaging in all sorts of cultivation throughout the year.

Loss of fertile farming lands:

The region in demand for capital has always been well-known for its fertile soil ideal for the cultivation of a wide range of flowers, fruits and vegetables. Most of the people engaged in its cultivation and farming operations are small and marginal farmers.

The villages along the river Krishna are known for cultivation of vegetables, fruits and flower varieties. The produce from these regions are then supplied to Vijayawada, Prakasam, Nellore and other nearby city markets. A trader, B Ramana of Guntur District states that this is no longer the situation.
