Finance and commerce to coordinate under Nirmala Sitharam
The incoming government led by Narendra Modi has a new spokesperson, an articulate spokeswoman, Nirmala Sitharaman, who is being viewed with a personality of being a bridge between commerce and finance ministries, says a source. An economic turnaround is what the nation needs at the moment, and the coordination of the two ministries is important, which is why the 54 year old would now independently manage commerce and finance, and also help being second to Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley too, playing the role of minister of state for finance and corporate affairs. This cluster of roles as many say would be apt for an effective Team Modi governance to manifest ahead
In the past, both Arun Jaitley and Nirmala Sitharaman have been at one another’s necks, especially when it came to making decisions on foreign investments. When tax incentives were withdrawn, the commerce department manning special economic zones and export oriented parks weren’t happy. Sources from both ministries are sceptical about how Arun Jaitley and Nirmala Sitharaman would work things out, and by being one.
It is said, Nirmala Sitharaman is known to hold high position in BJP, and has been considered as an articulate and a very practical individual who knows the route of both ministries very well. with that being assured, Team Modi thus would want to see the manifesto of “ache din aane wale hai” manifesting for real and soon.
Nirmala Sitharaman hear hear hear!!
