Five-day special camp by DDA for mutation

No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Feb 17, 2014

Converting the property from leasehold to freehold is a very big problem for residents. DDA has announced it is holding a five-day special camp at its headquarters, starting 17th Feb, Monday.

DDA Vice Chairman Balvinder Kumar pointed out that due to existing stringent policies of DDA, there are nearly four lakh pending cases of conversion. Initially, the authority allotted all plots and flats on a ‘lease’ to the allottee and it had to be converted to a ‘freehold’ after a long winding process and payment of conversion charges. However, recently it has started allotting flats with freehold titles.

The camp will be held at Vikas Sadan, DDA’s headquarter. Each day will cater to one zone – Monday, Dwarka zone; next four days to East, South Delhi, Rohini, North Delhi/Narela, West/Central Delhi properties.

Property owners need to deposit their documents and the authority will give them a date by which they can collect their papers. The process will be similar to the one used to used to issue passports, Kumar informed.

In the five days, DDA expects turnout of around 20,000 property owners, having DDA flats, group housing societies, residential plots, commercial plots and industrial plot.

Property owners in certain categories – having no sanctioned building plan; dispute in misuse charges; title under dispute or matter pending in court; properties that have been amalgamated or sub-divided or the required FAR has not been achieved; cases pending with investigating authorities, where term lease has expired and has not yet been renewed, where GPA/ agreement to sell has been executed after October 11, 2011 – have been advised not to come.

Those property owners whose properties changed hands many times will have to provide the whole chain of documents for each transaction.
