Foreign investment for water supply scheme in Guwahati
The apartments in Guwahati are struggling for a long time to an acute crisis of water.
The situation will change in near future as two foreign-funded drinking water supply schemes will start providing 24 hrs water supply to households.
The Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water and Sewerage Board reviewed the implementation schemes by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Asian Development Bank.
The Japanese agency will invest Rs 1200 crore while the ADB planned to implement the project with a cost of Rs 442 crore.
The completion of the projects are estimated to be done by 2016.
