Four tahsildars in Devanhalli booked for grabbing government land
Around four of the tahsildars who had served in Devanahalli on the outskirts of Bangalore from the year 2007 have been booked by the Karnataka Lok Ayukta police for involving in violations regarding the grabbing of government land in the region where land prices have been sky rocketing since a new Bangalore International Airport was opened there in 2007.
The Lokayukta police have also registered a criminal case against Sampath Kumar, Mariyappa Gowda, Asha Parveen and LC Nagaraj. All of these tahisildars had served as the administrative heads of the Devanahalli taluk.
The Lokayukta police in their complaint have also mentioned that all four government officials failed to protect government land in Rayasandra, Vishwanathapura, Hosahalli, Chikkanahalli, Hegganahalli, Koramangala and Beerasandra village which is located next to the Kempegowda International Airport where land costs several crores per acre. This problem had been previously raised. Grabbing of government land and selling to NRI’s and other people with a high price has become a major problem these days. Hopefully the police here in Lokayukta will further see into the matter as what has happened and actions will be taken against these four tahisildars.
