Multiple fraud events have increased in the form of both fake employment letters and fake degrees in applications especially for jobs in IT, BPOs, hospitality, manufacturing and retail sectors. This situation has aroused because of the unwarranted mom and pop companies that impart job training to desperate job seekers and provide them with fake experience letters for various jobs. Navin Chugh, the senior vice president and managing director of First Advantage, an US based company that works in background screening and verification said that there are 6,000-7,000 companies.

Around one to three candidates of five candidates in the financial, BPO and IT sectors come around with fake degrees, or fake work experiences, while in the hospitality, retail and manufacturing sector there is about 30 percent cases of fake degrees or fake work experiences.

Among the 30 percent cases of fake degrees and fake work experiences around the hospitality and retail sector number of applicants who give this letters around 60 percent cases have increased in the last 18 months. These cases have been hard to deal with and the problem seems to rise. This is also happening due to the scarcity of job in the various sectors.
