Ghaziabad MP briefs media about development-related issues in the constituency
In an interaction with the media on Sunday, former Army chief and Union Minister (Retd) General Vijay Kumar Singh talked about several issues related to development work in his constituency, Ghaziabad.
Acknowledging the fact that the Ghaziabad constituency has been facing power issues, Singh said that he has called for a high level meeting with UP officials so that the issues can be addressed, and has also met with Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal.
In connection with the water problems faced by the residents of the Ghaziabad constituency, Singh said that a long-term plan will be formulated to solve the water problem and the plan will be implemented once feedback is received. Singh also said that a letter has been sent to the Government to duly inform it about the water issues.
Along with briefing the media about power and water issues in Ghaziabad, Singh also said that efforts are underway to commence work on the Metro project in Ghaziabad in 2014 itself.
In addition, Singh also talked about the establishment of a skill development centre in Ghaziabad, as well as the widening of two National Highways in the constituency. He said that he has met with the respective ministries and put forth his views about the development work which needs to be carried out in his constituency.
