GHMC Hyderabad to deploy GIS to catch tax defaulters
There are many defaulters in Hyderabad who have been eluding property tax.
For catching those people and to save crores of rupees lost as revenue in the form of property tax, GHMC Hyderabad has planned to install Geographic Information System (GIS).
Two agencies, Vayum Technologies and Vensoft, will help the civic body with the endeavour in identifying the unassessed properties in Serilingampally and Kapra municipal circle.
The initiative was taken after a survey in which they found around 20 lakh households in Greater Hyderabad. However, as per reports they have assessed only 12.5 lakh properties.
This pilot project will be completed within a month and if the results look good then the project will be extended to other parts of the city.
