No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Aug 28, 2014

Nisaba Godrej, a scion of the Godrej family and Executive Director of Godrej Consumer Products in a statement announced that the company plans to increase its headcount to over 18,000 employees by 2017 from about 15,000 currently.

Godrej Industries Limited and Associated Companies (GILAC) a part of the Godrej conglomerate group plans to expand its markets globally. Nisaba said that group companies would expand at an estimated annual growth rate of 26 % in the next three years.

This growth will be achieved through the organic way and inorganic way through mergers and acquisitions. Nisaba is credited with bringing a performance-oriented culture in the group in line with the world class companies. Now this performance driven company is all set to expand into the domestic market by getting into the premium categories across various new segments.

The companies, which are a part of GILAC, consist of GCPL, GAVL, Properties, Chemical and GNB. GILAC currently has a presence in more than 80 countries. Sumit Mitra the Executive Vice-President of Human Resources in Godrej Industries stated that GILAC will have 11,000 employees based out of overseas locations. This is a good news for the Indian players as in the last few decades we have seen Indian conglomerates going global. Most of them were IT companies like Infosys, Wipro and TCS. It is nice to see Indian manufacturing and consumer durables giants too are setting up their delivery centers in the foreign lands.
