Government aims to construct 12 dry ports, speed up connectivity projects & boost exports
The NaMo government aims to make Indian exports more competitive and for that aspiring plans are being built up. Government is busy in drawing plans to build up 12 dry satellite ports for grooming dozens of major ports. The idea is to make these ports able to dock super-sized ships and establish new unit to make sure that long stalled port connectivity projects are speeded up.
Completion of these dry inland port projects would empower the exporters to complete their custom and export paperwork here only. Loading and shipping of consignment from the nearby sea port would turn easier too.
The vision of this system is to enable an exporter from Jodhpur to send his goods to the Kandla or Mundhra ports in Gujarat. And similarly, exporter from Telangana would be connected to the Kakinada or Vizag ports.
