Government to provide apartments for poor

No Comments Sub Category:Bangalore,Realty News,Residential Real Estate Posted On: Nov 15, 2012
After the failure of various schemes like Ashraya Yojana and Rajiva Awas Yojana, the government is planning to build apartments for poor instead of independent houses which occupy more space.
The government is planning to accommodate 2,000 to 3,000 citizens in each apartment complex.
The Hubli-Dharwad Urban Development Authority (HDUDA), HDMC and the slum board have been given the responsibility to identify lands to construct apartments for the weaker section. Jagdish Shettar, Chief minister said that in the next couple of months, land will be finalised.
The civic body is finding it difficult to search land to implement housing schemes for the poor as the government’s limit is less and  price of private land per acre has gone up to Rs 50 lakh to Rs 60 lakh while the farmers are demanding Rs 1 crore per acre.
Financial support will be given to the people to buy a flat under various housing schemes.
