Govt keen on improving infrastructure: Bhalla
Mr. Raman Bhalla, minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture and Youth Services and Sports said the government was making efforts to provide modern infrastructural facilities across the state.
As the Union Government had provided liberal funds under various sectors, there was no constraint of money for this purpose, he mentioned.
For the construction of subways, illumination and plantation, besides extension of the Kunjwani-Satwari four-lane road to six lanes, the government had approved Rs 4 crore, he added. As soon as tendering formalities were completed by the Roads and Bridges Department, the project would be started, he further added.
The minister alleged this while addressing a large gathering at Sanjay Nagar, where development works worth Rs 43 lakh were launched.The development projects comprises of upgradation of lanes and drains at Sanjay Nagar, Gangyal and Trikuta Nagar.
Jammu Municipal Corporation engineers have been asked by Bhalla to finish the works within the set timeframe so that people could be provided the state-of-the-art facilities as early as possible.
