Green Housing just a Catchy Phrase for the Property Developers
Green housing has become just a key component for the builders and the developers to attract the property buyers to them. The green housing theme and the intension behind building a green city has been fading down since the developers find this “green housing” term as catchy phrase instead of serving the actual purpose of it. The percentage of green housing development in India is just nearing 3%, nowhere proves the development mark. The Housing and Urban Development Corporation (Hudco) in collaboration with the Energy and Resources Institute (Teri) has come up with a new project and the Teri manager reported saying that they would guide Hudco by lending a certain plan. This plan includes site planning, energy saving equipments and also the water recycling plants.
The project has been estimated to nearly 7 million square meters and the director of Teri claims that the project has already been started to go green. The Haryana government has taken up the initiative of prompting green buildings. Puri Constructions in Gurgaon is spreading the green themes as it has been mandatory by the Haryana Government in which the developers have water harvesting and also solar panels. Chandrashekar Hariharan, co-chairman, Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) reported saying that the property buyers can instead invest nearly lakhs of rupees on the solar system and also another energy efficient machines. However in this situation of prices rising, the property buyers are getting attracted to the concept of “Green Housing”.
