Green ways of Makeover for Vashi Mini Seashore

A group of retires architects and city planners expressed the feeling of keeping the locality clean and beautiful in an eco-friendly way.

This team of concerned urban planners is aware of the harmful insecticides being sprayed along the beach as mosquito repellant. The residents mainly pollute the Mini Seashore region to avoid the hazards of dangerous mosquito. According to the team, planting of certain trees with the power of mosquito-repellant is a better idea to keep the region green and clean. It is quite sustainable to avoid insecticides and yet keep the area free from mosquitoes.

It is quite effective to spray chemicals to reduce the threat of mosquito in urban region, but in case of Mini Seashore area, a better and green method must be adopted. It is a green zone hence the greenery needs to be retained by any means. A resident as well an architect from Nerul, Mr. Minal Modak says that their group will make a motivational presentation to the municipality authorities and suggest for the plantation of mosquito repellant trees in this region.

Dirty ponds are the chief breeding ground for mosquitoes hence dumping of ceremonial as well as household waste in the ponds has to be checked immediately. This is what Mr. Kedamath Ghorpade says, an ex-chief urban officer. It will be a good ecological atmosphere to bring in fishes and crabs in this region as they largely feed on mosquito breeds or larvae. This will help in maintaining the ecological balance as well as keep the area free from the threats of dangerous diseases carried by mosquitoes. It is necessary to have a proper puddle network management plan along with day to day desalting of the pond waters. Time to time, removal of stagnant water will help is reducing the mosquito breeding in a more eco-friendly manner.
