Gujarat government to implement PPP model for construction of roads in rural sector
Gujarat government has been in newsflash for its several ambitious projects. The idea to connect each village of the state with a road network is one of such aspiring schemes. The government has decided to indulge non-government organisations for funding of these schemes/projects. Nitin Patel, Gujarat State Road and Building Minister announced the agenda during his speech in the assembly today. He explained about the budgetary allocations of his department, which are already in process in the state. The State Road and Building Minister, Gujarat said, “In this budget, our department has made provisions to construct roads under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The idea is to provide best infrastructure to people.”
Patel also appealed to local industries of Gujarat, including sugar factories, dairies, co-operative societies and Agriculture Produce Marketing Committees (APMCs) to fund the construction of roads bringing the PPP model in use.
