Gurgaon: Inquiry ordered into multi-crore building fraud
An inquiry has been ordered into the alleged multi-crore building fraud by Adel Landmarks in Gurgaon. The order for the probe into the fraud was given recently by TC Gupta – Haryana’s Principal Secretary, Town and Country Planning.
The probe order by Gupta has come close on the heels of a recent Times of India report which highlighted that Adel Landmarks has allegedly duped hundreds of buyers who had invested in apartments being constructed in Gurgaon.
In an email sent to the newspaper, Gupta said that the alleged building fraud is a serious issue which warrants an immediate fact-finding investigation, as well as immediate action if lapses are detected on the part of developer.
Gupta said in the email that he has instructed the senior town planner of Gurgaon to carry out an inquiry into the fraud; has given a period of three days for the submission of report to him and to the Director General, Town and Country Planning.
Meanwhile, with the investors demanding a probe into the multi-crore building fraud asserting that Adel Landmarks had sold off the land to another builder, Ansal Housing – which has launched Ansals Highland Park project on the land, after supposedly purchasing it from Identity Buildtech and others – has said in a statement that it “was not aware of any deal(s) that any other party may have done on the said land.”
