Gurgaon residents are opposing house tax by MCG
Several resident’s welfare associations of private colonies of Gurgaon have opposed to the idea of house tax imposed by Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG).
The residents alleged that the municipal corporation does not even have its jurisdiction in their area, hence why imposing a tax.
Some of the residents have written letters showing their protest to the MCG commissioner.
They also have to say that since MCG does not provide them with any service or amenities like water, sewerage, roads, streetlights, etc, they do not have any right to collect tax also.
The colony is still controlled by a private builder of Green Ville and the residents pay their maintenance fee regularly.
A government official has alleged that the process of transferring the rights of a private colony from HUDA and planning committee to MCG has started.
