Gurgaon traffic issues revised by police

Gurgaon trafficGurgaon: Gurgaon police has listed 83 points under the revised list of traffic issues in the city, which have to be taken care by the expressway concessionaire and National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). 

Most of the issues mentioned in the list are old ones which the police have been pursuing for the past many years without any success. Some of the issues listed are opening of new exit just after end of Shankar Chowk flyover to facilitate the commuters headed towards DLF City phase – I and II, installation of traffic signal at Rajiv Chowk, construction of remaining foot over bridges (FOBs) on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway, etc. 

Similarly, the police is still checking the need for the works like removal/resizing of roundabouts, expansion of slip road leading from Sirhol Toll plaza towards Ambience Mall, installation traffic signals at various spots, road dividers and installation of railings, etc. 

The police have asked the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) to focus on 26 major issues. They have written to the HUDA administrator that they have prepared a list of traffic issues and need the latter’s personal attention in reducing traffic accidents and maintaining smooth traffic flow in the city. 

The list includes traffic issues like- construction of autorickshaw parkings at Metro stations, zebra crossing at every crossings, traffic signals in front of hospitals and schools, expansion of sector 17/18 cut road at IFFCO Chowk, removal of encroachment in front of Marriott Hotel, construction of slip roads, repairing of the slip road at Jharsa Chowk, construction of bus queue shelters at a bus stand at IFFCO Chowk, construction of FOB at HUDA City Centre Metro station, removing/resizing roundabout at Cyber Park in Sector 39 and many more. 

The police have also requested HUDA to solve the issues of water stagnation at Hero Honda Chowk, where long hours of traffic jams happen every year during the monsoon.
