Haryana Government keeps Property Guidelines under wraps

No Comments Sub Category:Municipality,Realty News Posted On: Jul 04, 2011

Haryana government had said a proper notification would be published for guidelines for private developers to follow while issuing advertisements. Even a month after the Haryana government announced guidelines it is yet to issue a public notice. The public notice would be published so that the common man has access to contact details of officials whom they can notify in case these norms are violated.

So far the government has only issued circulars to private developers and has asked district town planners to lodge cases against those found flouting rules. “We have already issued circulars to private players and have lodged four cases after violations were brought to our notice. Regarding the issue of publishing a notification listing the officials contact details, my office will get back to you on Monday,” TC Gupta, director general of Town and Country Planning (TCP) wing of the Haryana government said.

The TCP had circulated a list of rules to private developers on May 27. One day later, during an interaction with private developers in the capital, Gupta had agreed to a proposal to publish a phone number or a website where people could lodge complaints. This proposal was earlier shot down by state industry secretary YS Malik. Gupta had said that he had told district town planners (DTPs) across the state to file at least two FIRs against violators to ensure 100 per cent compliance with rules.
