Haryana govt halts land acquisition process
No process of land acquisition will take place in Rewari till judicial commission submits its report to the Haryana government regarding the violence occurred on July 22. A state government spokesperson stated that government has decided to constitute two committees – one of State Government and the other of farmers of Rewari district.
Farmers opposing land acquisition had clashed with police, burn down several vehicles and blocked Delhi-Jaipur national highway as cops opened fire on a mob at village Asalwas in Rewari. Over 60 people were injured in the protest.
