Haryana HC passes order against land encroachment
The Punjab and Haryana High Court today ordered interim stay on construction on a petition alleging that MLA Bibi Jagir Kaur had encroached upon about 20 acres of Begowal Nagar Panchayat land.
The order by Justice K. Kannan came on an application by Begowal resident George Subh against the Punjab Government and other respondents.
Acting on the petition accusing SGPC’s former chief Bibi Jagir Kaur of encroaching upon prime land, the High Court on the previous date of hearing had issued notice of motion to the state and the Lokpal.
Encroaching of lands and the problems that arise are being encountered more often than now. The case of the land encroachment by an MLA Bibi Jagir Kaur is just another example of how the people in power are misusing their rights. This is one of the major problems and the needed measures are to be taken to stop such problems.
Some time might be taken to continue the proceedings before the final hearing of the court and other details. The order of the petition was filed by another resident against the 20 acres land which is said to be encroached.
