Haryana residents protested over power issues blocking roads

Residents of Yamunanagar town, Jind and Gurgaon, blocked the National Highway No. 73-A and also quarreled with the police protesting over power problem on Tuesday.

The police even chose to a mild cane charge to scatter the protestors who were demanding regular power supply to their homes.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, told the residents of Rohtak that the problem has occurred due to delayed monsoon, insufficient rainfall in the month of June. He requested the residents to keep patience for the Haryana government is doing its best to meet the shortage by stepping up power supply.

As per schedule, the urban domestic and non-domestic consumers are to get supply for 20 hours a day against which the DHBVN has given supply for average of 12 hours a day and the industrial consumers have been given 16.35 hours supply a day against the schedule of 18 hours daily.
