Heat turned on NHAI by the panel
The Public Demand Co-ordination Committee in Kokrajhar has warned the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) which has failed to release the compensation money for acquisition of land for the four-laning of National Highway 31 (C) in the district . It has further admonished the agency to release money at the earliest. The general secretary of the committee, Ashok Goyary said at the committee’s executive meeting at Alangi Bazar today that the land of villagers was collected for the said purpose during 2005-2006 but till date the villagers have not received any compensation.
