Higher education increases real estate demand

No Comments Sub Category:Cities,Mumbai,Realty News,Residential Real Estate Posted On: Nov 29, 2012

According to a report submitted by DTZ, a property consultant, by 2020 the higher education sector will create real estate demand of around 900 million sq ft. This is to maintain the current gross pupil enrollment ratio of 12 per cent.

However, with the current pace, it is not possible to achieve the target before 2036. Gross enrollment ratio (GER) shows the percentage connected with students enrolled for a training grade against how many students that be entitled to the process.

To accomplish a new GER of 30 per cent by 2020, the education system will need to complement its potential by adding 37 million seats. To achieve a GER of 12 percent it took more than 60 years by the higher education sector.
