Highway project in Arunachal to get grant from the centre soon
The Centre is yet to approve the detailed project report (DPR) on the expansion of the NH-52A from Itanagar to Banderdewa to four lanes. Arunachal Pradesh PWD minister Gojen Gadi said he will take up the matter with the Centre for an early sanction of funds.
On Sunday the PWD minister Gojen Gadi inspected the entire stretch of the highway. Since this highway was severely damaged at several points following the heavy rainfall in the last couple of days, the sanction should come soon for the repair work of the highway. This is crucial for the road safety and in order to ensure safety to the users, the sanction should be expedited.
A press release in Itanagar on Monday mentioned that the minister has asked the officials of his department to be vigilant and cautious while dealing with the damaged roads and clearing debris. He also asked his department to keep the road open to traffic throughout the year. It looks that everyone is hopeful about the new Modi government and its promise to expedite the infrastructure projects and clear bottlenecks. Even the north eastern states of India which were always neglected by the previous governments are now hoping to get benefitted from the measures taken by the new government.
