Himachal Pradesh government is planning to cancel the Apartment and Property regulation Act
The Himachal Pradesh government has planned to cancel the Apartment and Property regulation Act 2005.
The controversial law was passed in Himachal by the previous government, and the Sood Commission recommended scrapping the Act for the betterment of the environment of Himachal Pradesh.
The government took the decision based on the report of the Sood Commission.
According to the report of the one man commission, 22 people who were involved in frequent land purchases and its sale. The Commission has recommended scrapping of the HP Apartment and Property Regulation Act, as majority of the builders were “creating a concrete jungle and spoiling the natural forested environment”.
As both the Vidhan Sabha Committee and Judicial Commission recommending the scrapping of this Apartment Act, no political party can afford to support this law.
With the scrapping of the Act, the growth of the real estate in Himachal Pradesh will be stopped as lot of benami transactions happened in the state and all those transactions will be cancelled.
