Home buyers protest against developers at Jantar Mantar
Home buyers in Greater Noida West staged a protest march demanding strict action against developers and also the presenting of the real estate regulatory bill in the ongoing Parliament session at Jantar Mantar.
Social activists, several residents welfare associations and home buyers from Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Gurgaon and Kurukshetra have have joined the protest. The protesters wanted to take action against the builders who allegedly harass innocent buyers.
After the protest at Jantar Mantar, the victims and the supporters have submitted a letter of demand to PM Manmohan Singh requesting for his support in the cause. They also approached many political party leaders of the nation, to regulate the bill in order to stop the harassment against buyers.
Abhishek Kumar, president of Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association, has said that if the protest has not stirred the UP government and the Center and the Greater Noida Authority’s chief executive officer, then they are ready to protest outside the houses or offices of different political party leaders.
He claimed that developers such as Gulshan Homes, Nirala, Panchsheel, Buland Elevates, Supertech, Ajnara, Earth group and many more have issued cancellation notice illegally. It has been reported that the developers are accepting new booking and canceling onld ones to get more money.
A buyer said that he has paid 10% of the amount in 2011 and is also ready to pay the remaining but his builder has issued cancellation letter and planning to sell the property for another buyer.
