Home sales volume remain stable across cities
There may be good days in the offing as per real estate market in India is concerned. According to data from property research firm PropEquity, home sale volumes remained stable in the month of May in key cities across the country.
Mumbai has seen slight increase and the sales have been moderate in Gurgaon. The monsoon is typically a lean season for the sector and the next series of launches is expected in September 2012 when the festive season kicks in.
Experts continue to believe that overall volumes in Gurgaon may have remained moderated in the mid-term due to limited new launches and a relative rise in prices. However, with launches from Godrej, Indiabulls Real Estate and Adani in the market, the scenario is expected to change.
Bangalore, on the bright side, continued to post steady volumes with sales in the month of May at 5 million sq ft compared to the six-month average of 4.9 million sq ft.
