Houses in Maharashtra are no more affordable
The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) are constructing the affordable houses in Mumbai region for the last six decades.
MHADA will announce the the sale prices for the houses this year. However the listed prices are beyond the reach of low and middle income group.
The tentative cost for the houses for Economically Weaker Sections are proposed to be Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh and those for the lower income group will be around Rs 15 lakh to Rs 17 lakh.
The Dipak Parekh committee recommended that affordable flats should be provided with adequate privacy, space, security, lighting, heating, ventilation and basic infrastructure at affordable costs.
The investments for the affordable houses are made from the profits coming from the Middle income group housings and higher income group housings.
