Housing plan made for backward sections by GHMC
Somesh Kumar, who happens to be the commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, has given his orders to the housing department officials to come up with detailed project reports. This one comprises of two bedroom houses for all weaker sections of the society.
A meeting was also organized between the officials belonging to the department of engineering and the commissioner himself. This took place on Thursday in Greater Hyderabad. He went ahead and declared that houses that will be established further on should have two bedrooms. The rules laid down by the chief minister should be obeyed and followed.
Given the records, there are around 1,478 slums at the moment and out of all of them, around 680 are based on governmental land. On private land there are 502, on local body land one will find 72 slums and finally 125 on land that has been occupied privately.
According to the officials of the engineering department, there are around 3 types of housing colonies. One is INSITU where the slum is found in the same spot by getting rid of all the current structures. The other is INSITU Up-gradation where one will find no infrastructure but definitely a couple of huts and concrete homes. The last one is Relocation where the slum is located in a dangerous region and will be shifted to a better and safer area soon.
